The time has come...Vast Aire and Vordul Mega of the acclaimed and famed group, Cannibal Ox, begin their "Reunion Tour" tomorrow night in Brooklyn, New York. They'll be doing one show this month, before hitting the road hard in January of the new year. AZ, LA, SF, SD and Vegas are all on the schedule with the possibility of other cities being added. I've been working closely with Can Ox on putting this thing together and the idea is to keep this tour relatively small and do a much larger one later in the year. I'll be joining the Ox on the west coast portion of the tour, and I couldn't be more pumped.
Also at the Knitting Factory will be legendary emcee C-Rayz Walz, along with Double AB, Creature, IRealz, Prop Anon, J. Stylez and Original Text. Sounds like a great way to kick off the tour and I wish I could be there myself. The Starvin Harlem duo boasts new material on the set list in addition to a few classics, so those expecting to hear a medley from their smash debut "The Cold Vein" from a decade ago will be pleasantly disappointed. The new work is minimal at this point, but from the sneak listen I had of it - is an awesome venture in a new direction. 2013 is dedicated to developing the next project which will launch on IGC Records (Iron Galaxy Clik). Expect some high level production from some big names but most of all, expect the same street knowledge, universal wisdom and lyrical mastery they gave once before. It pains me not to be able to give you a sample of the fresh new music, but stay tuned...there will be Ox. For now, check the latest re-surfacing of Cannibal Ox on Double AB's track Street Survival and get yourself to BK tomorrow night!
